Job details:
Title: Lead - Communications & Strategy
Function: Communication Strategy & Planning, Impact Communication, Brand Management, Social Media Management
Location: Remote
Engagement: Full-time
Remuneration: 12-13 LPA (commensurate with experience)
Timeline: 22nd April, 2026
Role Overview:
Tarq Foundation is looking for a storyteller who can drive impact. If you can turn ideas into narratives, data into stories, and work into movements, the Lead – Communications & Strategy role is for you!
What You’ll Do :
● Own and drive the organisation’s communications end-to-end - strategy, execution, last-minute saves - yes, the big picture, the tiny commas and end-of-sentence caption fixes.
● Identify opportunities for visibility and impact - and act on them.
● Turn impact into stories people actually care about - and don’t just skim/GPT.
● Run the digital universe - social media, website and whatever the internet is going to invent.
● Guard and elevate the brand voice - consistent, sharp, and never boring - whether a formal report or a catchy caption, it needs to be Tarq-ified.
● Build and manage media relationships and external stakeholders – and spoil them more with first of a kind collaterals.
● Make partner communication fun and less boring - think decks and reports partners might actually read instead of dreading.
● Turn fieldwork into stories that hit harder than statistics on a slide.
● Track what works, fix what doesn’t, and double down on what makes people stop scrolling.
● Lead as an equal with our stellar communications team - part mentor, part editor, part chaos manager, part “bro”.
What We’re Looking For:
● A postgraduate degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field.
● At least 3 years of experience in communications preferably in the non-profit or social impact sector.
● Strong understanding of digital media, branding, and content strategy.
● Ability to work collaboratively with graphic designers & video editors.
● Aesthetic sense for designing and editing unafraid of challenging the obvious.
● High on ownership, structured thinking, and crisp communication synthesizing complex programme information into simple, engaging narratives.
● Comfortable working across cross-functional teams and fast-moving priorities.
● Be a Bollywood Buff, as our Founders have a problem of talking in Bollywood references.
