Identity and Access Management (IAM) Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Identity and Access Management (IAM) Specialist to implement, maintain, and support IAM solutions within our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in directory services, multi-factor authentication (MFA), and access control mechanisms. This role requires a proactive approach to user and account management, troubleshooting IAM-related issues, and ensuring compliance with security policies.
Responsibilities
- Implement and configure IAM solutions, including Active Directory (AD), Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP), and MFA systems.
- Manage user identities and access rights, including provisioning and deprovisioning accounts, and handling service accounts.
- Ensure adherence to secure configuration standards and best practices.
- Diagnose and resolve IAM-related issues and incidents, providing technical support to users as needed.
- Monitor IAM systems for security vulnerabilities and performance issues, implementing necessary improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure IAM solutions align with organizational goals and compliance requirements.
- Document IAM processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps for knowledge sharing and compliance purposes.
Mandatory Skills
- Proven experience with Identity Management Lifecycle Management (LCM) and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
- Strong knowledge of IAM solutions, specifically with tools such as Okta, Microsoft Azure AD, or similar platforms.
- Experience with Directory Services and multi-factor authentication (MFA) implementations.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve IAM-related issues effectively.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with IAM compliance frameworks and regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation of IAM tasks.
- Knowledge of security best practices and risk management principles.
- Certifications in IAM or related fields (e.g., Certified Information Systems Security Professional - CISSP, Certified Identity and Access Manager - CIAM) are a plus.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in IAM implementation and management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
