About the Role: Business Development Lead
This is a high-impact, revenue-driving role where you will own client relationships, pipeline building, and strategic BD initiatives for Peepal. You will drive revenue through direct client engagement while also bringing leadership capabilities to mentor peers along with team members and shape BD strategy.
Beyond day-to-day client conversations, you will help us figure out what BD motions work best, which segments to double down on, how to approach different buyer personas, and how to improve our pitches and conversion over time. You will definitely lead and manage team members as the function scales, with a clear path to becoming a Business Head if you perform exceptionally.

What You'll Do
Build Pipeline and Drive Revenue
- Identify and build a strong pipeline of high-value target accounts and decision-makers
- Run outbound initiatives across email, LinkedIn, calls, events, and referrals to generate meetings
- Own end-to-end BD follow-through, from first conversation to commercial discussions and deal closure
- Close complex deals and consistently hit revenue targets
- Track potential clients by analyzing markets and global tech trends
Client Relationships and Meetings
- Build and maintain deep relationships with key prospects, existing clients, and C-suite stakeholders
- Conduct regular high-impact in-person and virtual meetings with targeted accounts
- Understand client business concerns deeply and position Peepal's offerings as strategic solutions
- Engage prospects through cold calls, LinkedIn, email, and strong relationship-building skills
Account Mining and Strategic Expansion
- Identify whitespace inside existing accounts and expand into new teams, roles, and business units
- Support client mining and talent mapping efforts to strengthen partnership depth
- Track stakeholders, org changes, and opportunities with strong CRM hygiene
- Build long-term account strategies that drive sustained revenue growth
BD Strategy and Improvement (How We Win More)
- Identify patterns from wins and losses and suggest improvements to outreach, pitches, and sequencing
- Contribute to segment strategy: which industries, roles, and client types to prioritize
- Collaborate with C-suite and leadership to drive growth in Branding, Marketing, and Business Development
- Conduct market research to identify opportunities and develop entry strategies
Leadership and Team Management
- Mentor and guide junior BD team members on pitching, relationship building, and closing techniques
- Lead BD initiatives and projects that require cross-functional collaboration
- Manage team members as the BD function scales-setting KPIs, conducting check-ins, and driving accountability
- Contribute to building scalable BD processes and playbooks
- Grow into a Business Head role and run the bigger team with exceptional performance
Operating Cadence and Execution
- Maintain daily activity discipline and weekly reporting
- Participate in regular reviews and drive accountability on your own pipeline goals
- Work closely with delivery and leadership to ensure smooth execution post-win
- Keep CRM clean and updated so pipeline visibility is always strong
Tools and Systems
- Use CRM and prospecting tools efficiently to run BD at scale (CRM, Apollo-like tools, email/LinkedIn sequencing tools)
- Maintain strong CRM hygiene and ensure accurate pipeline tracking and reporting
Key Skills
Mandatory
- Strong Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication with confident stakeholder handling, especially with senior decision-makers
- Client Engagement: Ability to engage clients, ask the right questions, and drive strong first conversations that convert
- CRM Experience: Hands-on experience with CRM tools (Zoho, Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar) is mandatory
- Revenue Ownership: High ownership, consistency, and proven ability to hit targets through disciplined execution
- Relationship Building: Natural relationship builder who can build trust and rapport quickly with C-suite and senior stakeholders
- Cold Outreach Comfort: Comfortable with targets, cold outreach, and structured daily activity
- Resilience: Not afraid of rejection and able to persevere with energy, maturity, and professionalism
- Strategic Mindset: Ability to think beyond tasks and improve BD motions, messaging, and conversion over time
- Analytical Skills: Comfort with data and analysis (pipeline, conversions, win-loss learning, market trends)
- Leadership Capability: Maturity and demonstrated ability to mentor others and lead BD initiatives
- Organization Skills: Strong attention to detail (notes, trackers, CRM updates, meeting prep, follow-through)
Good to Have
- Prior experience in recruitment services sales, staffing, RPO, or HR services
- B2B sales exposure (especially outbound, lead gen, and meeting conversion)
- Hands-on experience using prospecting tools like Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, or similar
Qualifications
- Postgraduate: MBA or equivalent preferred
- Experience: 2 to 4 years (compulsory)
- Strong analytical mindset and problem-solving skills
- Excellent negotiation and quick decision-making abilities
