We are seeking an experienced Lead Backend Engineer with strong expertise in Golang to design, build, and scale high-performance backend systems. This role involves leading the development of robust, efficient, and secure server-side applications while guiding a team of engineers to deliver high-quality solutions. Based in Bengaluru, this full-time position is ideal for someone with a solid technical foundation and a passion for building scalable architectures. The candidate will play a critical role in shaping backend strategy, improving system performance, and ensuring seamless integration across services. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product, frontend, and DevOps to translate business requirements into reliable technical solutions. Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of scalable backend systems using Golang
- Architect and implement RESTful APIs and microservices for high-performance applications
- Ensure system reliability, scalability, and security across all backend services
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features
- Review code, enforce best practices, and mentor junior and mid-level engineers
- Optimize application performance and troubleshoot complex technical issues
- Manage database design, queries, and integrations with external systems
- Implement efficient data processing and caching mechanisms
- Drive CI/CD practices and work closely with DevOps for smooth deployments
- Maintain clear documentation of systems, processes, and workflows
- Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to long-term technology strategy
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and propose improvements to existing systems
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Minimum 5 years of backend development experience with strong proficiency in Golang
- Proven experience in building scalable and high-performance distributed systems
- Solid understanding of microservices architecture and API design principles
- Experience working with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or NoSQL systems
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization tools like Docker
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex systems
- Experience with version control systems like Git and modern development workflows
- Prior experience in a leadership or mentoring role is highly preferred
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently, take ownership, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
- Strong focus on code quality, testing, and performance optimization
