Title: Lead – Access Supply Operations
Company: Sowaka Health India Pvt. Ltd.
Location: Mumbai (preferred) – India
About Sowaka Health
Sowaka Health is building the first compliance‑native platform for named‑patient and early access programs in India and underserved APAC markets. Through our proprietary platform, SowakaOS, we operate specialty access and named‑patient programs for unapproved and hard‑to‑access medicines, working with hospitals, physicians, and global suppliers to create safe, audit‑ready “port‑to‑patient” pathways. In markets where patients needing pre‑commercial or unlicensed breakthrough therapies have limited structured, credible access routes, we are creating that pathway from the ground up with the intent to make it the global standard.
The opportunity
We’re building our India access and supply operations from the ground up and looking for a hands‑on Lead – Access Supply Operations to own day‑to‑day execution.
This is not a typical big‑pharma back‑office role—you will work directly with founders, hospitals, suppliers, logistics partners, and regulators to make time‑sensitive patient programs actually happen.
What you’ll do
- Run end‑to‑end operations for Named Patient Programs (NPPs), Expanded Access Programs (EAPs), and specialty sourcing for India.
- Manage sourcing progress, shipment milestones, regulatory dependencies, and patient continuity for critical therapies.
- Coordinate with QA/RA/PV, freight forwarders, customs brokers, cold‑chain and warehousing partners for compliant, on‑time imports.
- Own RFQs, quote comparisons, batch/expiry verification, supplier communication, and pricing follow‑ups for specialty medicines.
- Maintain audit‑ready records for sourcing, shipments, and vendor documentation within SowakaOS and related systems.
- Help design and refine operational SOPs, trackers, escalation paths, and KPIs as we scale our India operations.
- Proactively identify and escalate risks (delays, cold‑chain deviations, documentation gaps) and drive resolution with urgency.
What you’ll bring
- 5–8 years in pharma operations / clinical supply / specialty sourcing / import–export / specialty pharma distribution, ideally with cross‑border exposure.
- Strong understanding of pharma import documentation, international shipments, and regulated supply chain processes; familiarity with Indian customs/CDSCO workflows is a plus.
- Proven experience coordinating multiple vendors and stakeholders (hospitals, suppliers, logistics partners, customs brokers) in time‑sensitive environments.
- High ownership, responsiveness, and comfort operating in a founder‑stage, fast‑changing setup where processes are still being built.
- Excellent written and spoken English; Hindi or another Indian language is a plus for on‑ground coordination.
Nice to have
- Experience with oncology, rare disease, biologics, or other specialty medicines.
- Exposure to NPPs, EAPs, compassionate use, comparator sourcing, or specialty trading environments.
- Familiarity with GDP/GMP and cold‑chain operations.
Why join us
Honestly? People who feel a little unsettled by this problem. Who find it strange that a patient in India can't access a medicine that's already available elsewhere in the world. People who want to work on something that matters and are okay with the messiness of building something from scratch.
We're not looking for people who need everything figured out before they start. We're looking for people who are good at figuring things out.
Sowaka Health is a US-incorporated company building in India and across APAC. We're early stage, well-structured, and advised by people who've spent careers in pharma, oncology, and regulatory affairs. If this feels like something you want to be part of — reach out.
