About the Company
We are looking for an experienced Lead – GSM (Glass, Seals & Mechanisms) to drive the design, development, and integration of GSM components for automotive vehicle programs. This role involves strong technical ownership, cross‑functional leadership, and supplier engagement within an OEM environment.
About the Role
Location: Pune – Chinchwad
Preferred Industry: Automotive OEMs / Auto Ancillaries (Mechanism‑focused)
Responsibilities
- Lead design and development of GSM components including glass, seals, latches, handles, window winding mechanisms, and check links
- Develop concepts and technical inputs for business case preparation and project costing at kick‑off stage
- Propose product specifications, targets, and performance parameters for assigned components
- Prepare and release Technical Requirement Documents (TRD), Responsibility Matrix, and DVP, and ensure supplier discussion and sign‑off
- Drive integration of GSM parts with vehicle integration, CME, and body / vehicle aggregates
- Develop design proposals meeting performance, weight, cost, and quality targets
- Ensure compliance with global regulatory and homologation requirements for GSM components
- Perform design calculations and Free Body Diagram (FBD) analysis to meet feel and effort targets
- Work closely with Styling teams for feasibility studies, A‑class surface discussions, tooling direction, and draft analysis
- Lead root cause analysis for build, validation, and field failures
- Drive discussions and alignment with cross‑functional teams including Design Studio, Product Planning, CME, Plant, and Supplier teams
Qualifications
- Experience: 8–11 years
- Education: B.E in Mechanical Engineering
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of mechanism part design
- Hands‑on experience with sheet metal, plastic, and rubber manufacturing processes
- Good understanding of GD&T and concern resolution
- Proficiency in CATIA V5, Teamcenter, and DMU kinematics
- Experience in supplier interaction and CFT working models
