Le Specialità Café & Market, located within the distinguished Mr. C Residences Coconut Grove and inspired by the legendary hospitality standards of the family, is seeking polished and service-driven Counter Attendants to join our café and gourmet market team. Our café celebrates authentic Italian café culture, offering artisanal coffee, traditional salumi and formaggi, house-prepared gastronomia selections, freshly baked viennoiserie, and handcrafted gelato.We are seeking hospitality professionals who take pride in delivering warm Italian service, product knowledge, and exceptional guest experiences in an elegant café environment.
Position Overview
The Counter Attendant plays a key role in the guest experience, assisting customers across multiple specialty stations including Salumeria, Gastronomia, Barista, Gelato, and Viennoiserie. This role requires energy, organization, product knowledge, and a passion for Italian culinary traditions while maintaining the polished hospitality standards expected within Mr. C Coconut Grove. Counter Attendants may rotate between stations and must be comfortable engaging guests while maintaining efficiency and attention to detail.
Station Responsibilities
Salumeria (Italian Deli Counter)
- Prepare and present Italian cured meats and cheeses with precision
- Slice salumi and formaggi according to guest requests
- Provide product recommendations and pairing suggestions
- Maintain immaculate presentation of deli displays
Gastronomia (Prepared Foods)
- Serve house-made Italian specialties and prepared dishes
- Portion items accurately and maintain proper food presentation
- Explain menu offerings and ingredients to guests
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the station
Barista Station
- Prepare espresso beverages and specialty coffees
- Maintain espresso machines and coffee station cleanliness
- Demonstrate knowledge of traditional Italian coffee service
- Engage guests warmly while maintaining efficient service flow
Gelato Counter
- Serve artisanal gelato with attention to presentation
- Provide flavor descriptions and recommendations
- Maintain product rotation and temperature standards
Viennoiserie & Pastry
- Present and serve freshly baked pastries and Italian breakfast items
- Maintain pastry displays to luxury hospitality standards
- Provide knowledgeable recommendations to guests
Guest Experience Responsibilities
- Welcome guests warmly and professionally
- Provide knowledgeable guidance regarding café offerings
- Maintain an elegant and organized counter presentation
- Ensure accuracy in order preparation and guest requests
- Collaborate with colleagues to maintain smooth service flow
Qualifications
Required
- Previous café, bakery, barista, or gourmet market experience
- Strong customer service and hospitality skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Professional appearance and polished demeanor
- Passion for food, coffee, and hospitality
Preferred
- Experience with Italian cafés, specialty coffee, or gourmet markets
- Barista experience with espresso preparation
- Knowledge of Italian products (salumi, formaggi, pastries)
- Multilingual abilities (Italian or Spanish a plus)
