Purpose
The role holder is responsible for managing the layout planning, optimization, and warehouse engineering activities. This includes infrastructure development, resource optimization, material handling solutions, and warehouse space utilization for supporting production and operational needs. The role ensures compliance with safety standards, efficient workflows, and future-ready designs for operational scalability.
Key expectations:
- Optimize workflows, material movement, and production and stores layouts for efficiency.
- Improve warehouse design and inventory management practices.
- Ensure robust infrastructure support and integration with utilities.
- Manage performance, timelines, and cost-effectiveness of outsourced work.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and environmental standards.
Result Outcomes:
- Deliver optimized layouts and warehouse space utilization
- Improve workflows to minimize material handling and lead times
- Deliver cost-effective layouts and minimize wastage of resources
- Develop infrastructure to accommodate future expansions for existing factories and new factories
- Ensure safety, environmental compliance, and sustainability
- Ensure right staffing for stores and WH operations
Enabling outcomes:
- Develop 2D/3D designs, space plans, and workflows for warehouse and production
- Track projects, monitor execution, and ensure timely delivery
- Optimize inventory tracking and storage systems using modern technologies (WMS) which will help in process flow and location management
- Maintain safety, environmental, and quality certifications and audits
- Regularly carry-out capacity calculations as per the demand
Desired Qualification and Experience
- 10-12 years of experience in layout design, warehouse engineering, and facility management including minimum of 5 years in leadership.
- Expertise in CAD tools, layout design, and material flow planning.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Advanced degree Master's in relevant engineering stream or MBA in Operations.
