Role Description The Layout Inspection Technician role is a full-time, on-site position based in Faridabad. The technician is responsible for performing layout inspection of mechanical and fabricated components, verifying dimensions, tolerances, and geometric features against engineering drawings and specifications. Day-to-day tasks include using measurement tools and instruments, recording inspection results, preparing reports, and communicating non-conformities to production and quality teams. The role involves collaborating with engineering, production, and quality departments to support root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement in manufacturing processes. The technician is expected to follow safety, quality, and documentation standards while meeting production timelines and maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of mechanical drawings, engineering tolerances, GD&T, and layout inspection procedures.
- Proficiency in using measurement tools and equipment such as vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMM or similar inspection instruments.
- Knowledge of quality control methods, ISO 9001 systems, inspection documentation, and non-conformance reporting.
- Familiarity with automotive or heavy engineering components, preferably tractor or industrial parts manufacturing.
- Ability to maintain detailed records, prepare inspection reports, and use basic computer applications (e.g., MS Office, ERP/QMS software).
- Strong analytical skills, focus on accuracy, and ability to identify deviations and potential process issues.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with production, engineering, and quality teams.
- Diploma or ITI in Mechanical or related discipline; prior experience in layout inspection or component quality inspection is preferred.
- Commitment to workplace safety, adherence to OHSAS standards, and willingness to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
