Title: School Psychologist
Qualifications: As set by state certification authorities
Reports To: Principal/Director of Special Education
Supervises: Psychological services for Special Education
Job Goal: To provide psychological services to the Special Education Program
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Consults with teachers, parents and other school personnel about learning, social and behavior problems.
2. Counsels with students and/or families to help solve conflicts and problems related to learning and adjustments.
3. Evaluates student academic skills, learning aptitudes, social skills, self-help skills, personality and emotional development skills.
4. Trains school personnel and parents on current state and federal program initiatives.
5. Evaluates the effectiveness of academic programs, behavior management procedures, and other services provided in the school setting.
6. Performs other duties as assigned.
