Role: Product Commercial Launch Project Manager – Pharma Industry
Role Background:
The Launch Project Manager will play a critical role in supporting cross‑functional pharmaceutical product launches by driving execution discipline, operational rigor, and transparent reporting.
Acting as the coordination backbone for launch activities, this role ensures workstreams remain aligned to timelines, decisions are tracked through completion, and leadership has timely visibility into progress, risks, and financial status.
The Project Manager partners closely with Commercial, Market Access, Marketing, Medical, Finance, and Operations teams to collect routine updates, maintain integrated trackers, and support structured governance through meetings, workshops, and reporting forums. By consolidating raw inputs into standardized formats and proactively flagging risks, issues, and budget variances, this role enables senior leadership to focus on strategic decision‑making and issue resolution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Follow up with functional workstreams for routine status updates.
- Maintain and update multiple trackers (launch plan, RAID log, dashboards).
- Schedule and coordinate cross‑functional meetings and workshops.
- Prepare agendas, draft and distribute action‑oriented minutes.
- Drive follow‑up on action items and ensure timely closure.
- Consolidate inputs into standardized reporting formats for leadership.
- Flag risks/issues for Vice President/Senior Director review.
- Assist with special presentation preparation.
- Manage budgets, accruals, variances, and quarterly spend plans with clear tracking of planned vs. actuals.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Minimum 5 years of experience supporting pharmaceutical product launches, preferably in commercial or late‑stage environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Life Sciences, or related field.
- Proven commercial launch experience in pharma.
- Strong track record maintaining integrated launch plans, RAID logs, dashboards, and budget trackers.
- Ability to coordinate cross‑functional meetings, prepare agendas, capture minutes, and drive follow‑up.
- Experience consolidating inputs into standardized formats for senior leadership.
- Skilled in identifying and escalating risks/issues to VP/Senior Director leadership.
- Hands‑on experience with budget tracking, accruals, variance management, and quarterly spend planning.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel (pivot tables); strong multi‑calendar coordination.
- Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and comfortable operating in fast‑paced, high‑visibility launch settings.
