Role Description The Laser Service Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai, responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing laser systems at customer locations and company facilities. This role involves performing routine inspections, diagnosing technical issues, and executing corrective actions to ensure optimal performance and safety of laser equipment. The Laser Service Engineer will provide field service and technical support, document service activities, and coordinate with internal teams to resolve complex problems. Daily activities include responding to service requests, conducting preventive maintenance, training users on proper operation and basic troubleshooting, and maintaining accurate records of tools, spare parts, and service reports. The role also requires clear communication with customers and colleagues, adherence to safety standards, and continuous learning on new laser technologies and company procedures.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for laser systems and related electronic/mechanical components.
- Candidates should possess field service capabilities, including on-site customer support, equipment installation, and service visit planning.
- Candidates should possess clear communication skills for explaining technical issues, documenting service work, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Candidates should possess technical support experience, including handling customer queries, guiding users, and escalating issues appropriately.
- Candidates should possess maintenance and repair skills for laser equipment, including preventive servicing, calibration, and component replacement.
- Diploma or degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Instrumentation, or a related engineering discipline.
- Experience working with industrial laser systems, CNC machines, or precision equipment is highly beneficial.
- Ability to read technical drawings, service manuals, and use diagnostic tools and test equipment safely.
- Willingness to travel for on-site service assignments and work in customer environments while following safety protocols.
- Strong problem-solving mindset, attention to detail, and commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
