About the role

About the Department

Fleet vehicles and equipment support everything from public safety and road maintenance to the delivery of essential community services. The Fleet Asset Manager provides the leadership and planning that keeps those assets reliable, cost-effective, and ready to serve.

This is a key role that blends data analysis, financial planning, operations, and long-term strategy. The Fleet Asset Manager leads lifecycle planning for vehicles, equipment, and fuel assets—overseeing acquisition, replacement, and disposal to maximize value and reliability. The role also guides major purchases, manages contracts, and uses performance data to inform decisions that affect operations across the organization.

Working closely with Fleet leadership, County departments, vendors, and technical teams, the Fleet Asset Manager helps ensure the fleet program remains modern, efficient, and aligned with operational needs. This role goes beyond managing vehicles—it focuses on managing the systems, planning, and investments behind them.

We’re seeking someone who brings together fleet expertise, financial insight, and thoughtful, strategic decision-making to support a strong and dependable fleet operation.

  • Managing fleet budgets and long-term replacement planning
