Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Landscape Designer at CityMali Gardening Solutions. The Landscape Designer will create functional and aesthetic outdoor space designs for residential, corporate, and community clients, aligning each project with sustainable and climate-conscious principles. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing concept plans, detailed planting plans, and hardscape layouts; preparing drawings, 3D visualizations, and specifications; and coordinating with internal teams, gardeners, and suppliers to ensure accurate implementation. The role also involves assessing site conditions, recommending appropriate plant species and materials, integrating smart irrigation and water-efficient systems, and revising designs based on client feedback. The Landscape Designer will document projects, support proposals and presentations, and collaborate with the broader team to continuously improve design standards and service quality.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Landscape Design and Landscaping to plan and deliver cohesive, sustainable outdoor environments.
- Proficiency in Landscape Architecture concepts, including spatial planning, circulation, and integration with built structures.
- Ability to develop detailed Planting Plans, with knowledge of plant species, climate suitability, and maintenance requirements.
- Experience with Hardscape design, including pathways, seating areas, structures, and material selection.
- Familiarity with sustainable design practices, organic gardening methods, and water-efficient irrigation systems.
- Comfort using digital design tools (e.g., CAD, 2D/3D modeling, or landscape design software) and collaborating remotely.
- Strong visual communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear drawings, layouts, and presentations.
- Effective stakeholder communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work in cross-functional teams.
- Relevant degree or diploma in Landscape Architecture, Landscape Design, Horticulture, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience designing urban or peri-urban projects, and a genuine interest in climate-conscious and community-focused landscapes.
