Description
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk report to the Materials Manager and are responsible for the accurate and timely handling of all incoming and outgoing shipments of aircraft landing gear and associated components. This role ensures proper documentation, packaging, and compliance with FAA regulations, and supports internal departments by maintaining the flow of materials throughout the facility. Additional responsibilities include inspecting and repairing shipping crates, organizing and managing customer-provided containers, performing occasional local pickups and deliveries using the company van or truck, and other duties as assigned by your manager.
Responsibilities:
Shipping Duties:
· Prepare, package, and label outgoing shipments of landing gear components in accordance with customer, regulatory, and internal standards.
· Strapping large assemblies to crates to ensure no damage will occur during transportation
· Ensure proper inclusion of required paperwork such as service tags, certifications, and commercial invoices.
· Coordinate pickup and delivery with freight carriers, ensuring timely shipment and tracking.
· Maintain proper documentation in the ERP system for all shipments.
Receiving Duties:
· Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments including landing gear, subcomponents, hardware, and tooling.
· Check incoming materials against packing slips, purchase orders, repair orders, and work orders.
· Document damages or discrepancies and coordinate with Quality Control for inspection and resolution.
· Document all transactions within the ERP system.
· Route items to the appropriate departments or inventory locations based on priority and status.
Shipping Crate Management:
· Inspect and perform minor repairs on wooden and composite shipping crates to ensure integrity for reuse.
· Organize and track customer-provided shipping containers/crates to ensure they are returned, accounted for, and stored properly.
· Coordinate with Production and Logistics to maintain crate availability and rotation.
Logistics Support:
· Perform occasional pickups and deliveries to vendors, customers, and offsite facilities using the company van or truck.
· Maintain a clean and organized warehouse and shipping/receiving area.
· Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
Compliance & Documentation:
· Maintain accurate inventory and movement records within the ERP system.
· Ensure all shipping and receiving practices align with FAA Part 145 requirements and internal SOPs.
· Follow proper hazardous materials handling procedures as required.

Qualifications:
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· 2+ years of experience in a shipping/receiving role
· Basic mechanical skills for crate inspection and minor repairs.
· Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
· Forklift certification preferred or ability to obtain certification.
· Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
Requirements
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 lbs regularly.
· Standing, walking, and operating warehouse equipment for extended periods.
· Occasional exposure to loud environments or fluctuating temperatures typical of warehouse environments.
· Ability to be able to use forklift, lifting hoist, hand trucks, pallet jacks, both manual and automatic, and hand tools required for the job.
· Performing the duties of this job will require you to sit, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, and reach with arms, hands and fingers.
· Specific vision abilities include vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
· Must be able to hear, understand, and distinguish sounds and speak clearly.
· Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas (safety glasses, gloves, safety shoes, and hearing protection) with or without reasonable accommodation.
