About the role
Eligibility Criteria:
- Years of Experience: 6-9 years
- Job Experience : Experience in Supply chain management, Component Engineering, Obsolescence management, Engineering Change management, Inventory Management and planning,
- Educational Qualification : Diploma and Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or MBA
Primary Responsibilities:
- Understand the incoming obsolescence issue raised in the Product Lifecycle Management platform (iPLM)
- Coordinate with multiple suppliers, contract manufacturers, open market suppliers, brokers to identify inventory of the obsolete component.
- Understand consumption and demand for the obsolete component using the ERP system (SAP)
- Understand the impact of the obsolete component on the next level assemblies.
- Identify best possible alternate part to the obsolete part.
- Perform FFF analysis between the obsolete component and the identified replacements.
- Perform comprehensive material assessment considering available inventory, historical consumption and forecasted demand to give single source of truth from the supply and demand of the obsolete part.
- Partner with suppliers to resolve obsolescence issues, conduct training, resolve daily issues / queries, get inventory updates.
- Get material quotes from open-market suppliers, brokers for hard-to-find components.
- Summarize and communicate the findings and analysis to the internal cross functional teams (product management, engineering) and resolve any queries.
- Correctly capture and determine the urgency of the obsolescence impact based on material assessment.
- Work with cross functional teams for process improvement opportunities.
- Lead process and quality improvement projects.
Mandatory Skills required to perform the job:
- Experience in component engineering and supply chain management (purchasing, buying or planning) business processes in manufacturing organizations.
- Experience in Form Fit function check (FFF) for the alternate components(electronics).
- Experience in working with component engineering tools such as Silicon Experts, IHS 4D Caps Online, IHS 4D CAPS etc.
- Experience in working with advanced MS Excel, MS Access & MS Word
- Detailed oriented, strong analytical skills, and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Very good communication skills (written & verbal) in English.
Desirable Skill:
- Knowledge and experience in Life cycle analysis, Product Change Notification, Component Obsolescence management,
- Knowledge of Engineering Change Management process
- Knowledge of SAP or any ERP or PLM tools
- Knowledge of lean /sig sigma tools.
