JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: Temporary Special Assignment/Student Technician
REPORTS TO: Technology Supervisor
DIRECTS: None
BASIC FUNCTION: Supports the mission, vision and goals of the district by the excellent performance of project-
based temporary support services to the Technology Department. Assist with summer projects involving desktops,
laptops, phones, and furniture. Candidate is responsible, self-directed, and has basic understanding of technology
equipment and tools. As this is an educational enhancement opportunity, this position is only for Lake Stevens School
District students.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be
assigned.
• Perform all support tasks associated with the needs of the Technology department as required.
• Disassemble and move computer labs.
• Organize, prioritize, and efficiently accomplish assigned tasks with minimal oversight.
• Assemble technology furniture (desks and carts).
• Deploy desktop computers. Unpack CPU, accessories, and peripherals. Set and connect devices. Remove and
dispose of packaging to dumpster/recycling.
• Deploy Chromebook laptops. Unpack units and accessories. Plug in, connect, and start up. Remove and dispose
of packaging to dumpster/recycling.
• Deploy telephones. Unpack units and accessories. Plug in, connect and test. Remove and dispose of packaging
to dumpster/recycling.
• Clean projector filters and lenses.
• Inventory Chromebook computers.
• Assist in Chromebook repairs.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
1. Lake Stevens School District students only.
2. Experience with computers and peripherals desired.
3. Must be 14 years of age or older.
4. Students who graduate will be permitted to work through the summer after they graduate.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
None required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to speak or otherwise communicate effectively in the English language. Ability to read, comprehend,
and interpret documents, schedules, and procedure manuals in English as determined by an assessment.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply concepts of basic mathematics.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete and abstract variables. Ability to
interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

controls. The employee will frequently bend or twist at the neck and trunk while performing the duties of this job.
