Role Description The Laboratory Technician L1 is a full-time, on-site role based in Cuttack. This role involves performing routine laboratory tests and procedures in pathology and related diagnostic areas, following established protocols and safety standards. The technician will operate and maintain laboratory equipment, prepare samples, label and store specimens, and ensure accurate recording of test results in laboratory information systems. Daily tasks include supporting quality control activities, assisting senior laboratory staff, managing inventory of reagents and consumables, and maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant work environment. The role also requires close coordination with clinicians, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure timely reporting of results and a smooth diagnostic workflow.
Qualifications
- Strong laboratory skills with hands-on experience in basic diagnostic procedures and sample handling.
- Ability to work confidently with laboratory equipment, including operation, calibration, and routine maintenance.
- Knowledge of quality control principles and practices to ensure accuracy, reliability, and compliance in test results.
- Well-developed analytical skills to interpret data, identify discrepancies, and escalate issues appropriately.
- Experience or training as a laboratory technician, with understanding of standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Familiarity with basic computer applications and laboratory information systems for data entry and report generation.
- Attention to detail, ability to follow instructions, and readiness to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, or holidays as required by laboratory operations.
