Role Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented and technically skilled ETP Laboratory Operator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring, testing, and analyzing effluent samples from our treatment plant to ensure all wastewater discharge meets regulatory standards and internal quality benchmarks.
This is a hands-on, critical role that sits at the intersection of environmental responsibility and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, prepare, and analyze effluent, inlet, and outlet water samples on a scheduled and ad-hoc basis
- Perform physicochemical and microbiological tests including BOD, COD, TSS, pH, TDS, turbidity, and heavy metal analysis
- Operate and maintain laboratory instruments such as spectrophotometers, pH meters, turbidimeters, and titration equipment
- Monitor ETP process parameters and report deviations to the plant/process team in a timely manner
- Maintain accurate records of all test results, calibration logs, and chemical inventory
- Ensure compliance with local environmental regulations (e.g., CPCB/SPCB norms or relevant local authority standards)
- Support internal and third-party environmental audits by providing documentation and test data
- Maintain lab cleanliness, safety standards, and proper disposal of chemical waste
Qualifications
- B.Sc. / Diploma in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a related field
- 1–3 years of experience in an ETP, STP, or industrial water treatment laboratory
- Proficiency in standard wet chemistry techniques and instrument operation
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and effluent discharge standards
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Good documentation and record-keeping skills
