Job Title: Laboratory Assistant – Materials Science
Location: IKP Eden, Bengaluru
Employment Type: Full-time
Salary: ₹10,000 – ₹15,000 per month, based on skills and experience
Job Overview
We are looking for a motivated Laboratory Assistant to support research in advanced materials for Microbial Fuel Cell (MFC)-based wastewater treatment. The role involves material synthesis, testing, device assembly, lab operations, and safety compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the synthesis of carbon-based materials, MOFs, composites, and electrode materials for MFC applications
Support the fabrication and assembly of microbial fuel cells
Conduct routine experiments related to wastewater treatment using MFC systems
Prepare chemical solutions and reagents, and maintain accurate lab records
Operate and help maintain equipment such as furnaces, autoclaves, and electrochemical workstations
Assist in characterization techniques like XRD, SEM, TEM, FTIR, and electrochemical analysis
Ensure safe handling, storage, and disposal of chemical and biological materials
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety in the lab
Support data collection, documentation, and troubleshooting
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
(final-year students and fresh graduates may also apply)
Hands-on exposure to hydrothermal, solvothermal, pyrolysis, or wet-chemical synthesis
Basic knowledge of electrochemistry and/or microbial fuel cells is preferred
Familiarity with lab safety practices
Ability to work independently and in a team
Preferred Skills
Exposure to materials science, energy materials, or wastewater treatment
Familiarity with environmental biotechnology
Basic understanding of characterization techniques and data interpretation
Good documentation and organizational skills
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
Additional Requirements

Ability to maintain records and meet project timelines
Good communication skills
