Role Description The Lab Technician role at C-Phi Consult Pvt. Ltd. is a full-time, on-site position based in Ahmedabad. The Lab Technician will perform routine and specialized geotechnical tests on soil, aggregates, geosynthetics, and related materials, ensuring that laboratory procedures follow established standards and project requirements. Responsibilities include preparing samples, operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, recording and analyzing test data, and supporting quality control for field and design teams. The role involves documenting results in an accurate and timely manner, assisting with calibration and housekeeping of lab instruments, and coordinating with engineers to support ongoing projects. The Lab Technician will contribute to safe laboratory operations by following safety protocols and maintaining compliance with relevant guidelines.
Qualifications
- Strong laboratory skills with experience in geotechnical or materials testing and familiarity with standard test methods.
- Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment and instruments used for soil, aggregate, and geosynthetic testing.
- Demonstrated quality control mindset, including careful sample handling, data integrity, and adherence to procedures.
- Analytical skills to interpret test results, identify anomalies, and communicate findings clearly to project teams.
- Previous experience working as a laboratory technician or in a similar technical role within civil or geotechnical engineering.
- Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline.
- Ability to follow safety standards, work systematically, and manage multiple tests and tasks efficiently.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with engineers and site personnel.
- Basic computer skills for data entry, report preparation, and use of laboratory management tools.
- Willingness to learn new testing techniques, standards, and technologies relevant to geosynthetics and geotechnical engineering.
