Inviting Applications for Lab Instructor in the Department of Chemistry at NIST University, Berhampur, Odisha
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive individual for the position of Laboratory Assistant in the Department of Chemistry. The role involves supporting laboratory practicals for B.Tech, B.Sc., and M.Sc. programs, assisting in research activities, and ensuring the smooth functioning of laboratory operations. The selected candidate will be responsible for preparing and maintaining lab setups, handling chemicals safely, managing inventory and records, and ensuring adherence to laboratory safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist faculty members in conducting laboratory practicals for B.Tech, B.Sc., and M.Sc. students.
- Prepare, set up, and maintain laboratory equipment, chemicals, and experimental setups.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals as per safety guidelines.
- Maintain laboratory records, stock registers, and inventory of chemicals and instruments.
- Support research activities and projects within the department.
- Ensure cleanliness, organization, and safety compliance of the laboratory at all times.
- Perform routine checks and basic maintenance of laboratory instruments.
Essential Qualifications
- M.Sc. in Chemistry from a recognized University/Institute.
- Sound practical knowledge of chemistry laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Familiarity with chemical handling, storage, and laboratory safety procedures.
- Experience in preparation and maintenance of laboratory setups.
- Ability to assist in academic practical sessions and research-related work.
