Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Lab Chemist role based in Ahmedabad. The Lab Chemist will be responsible for conducting routine and specialized tests on construction materials such as concrete, aggregates, asphalt, and water to ensure compliance with relevant standards and project specifications. The role includes preparing samples, operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, and recording results in an accurate and timely manner. The Lab Chemist will support quality control by monitoring material performance, identifying deviations, and working with project teams to resolve issues. Daily tasks also involve calibrating instruments, maintaining laboratory documentation, following safety protocols, and collaborating with site engineers and quality teams to support consistent, high-quality project delivery.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical skills to interpret test results, identify trends, and troubleshoot quality issues.
- Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment and general laboratory skills, including sample preparation and safe handling of materials and chemicals.
- Proficiency in quality control practices, including adherence to relevant standards and documentation of test results.
- Experience with calibration of laboratory instruments and a disciplined approach to maintaining equipment accuracy.
- Diploma or degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Knowledge of construction materials testing standards (e.g., IS codes or equivalent) is preferred.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to follow standard operating procedures.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional project teams on-site.
- Commitment to laboratory safety, environmental compliance, and continuous improvement.
