Role Description The Lab Assistant – Electronics is a full-time, on-site role based at Karnavati University in Gandhinagar. The individual will support day-to-day operations of electronics laboratories, including preparing lab equipment and components, setting up experiments, and ensuring that instruments are calibrated and functioning safely. Responsibilities include assisting faculty and students during lab sessions, maintaining inventory of electronic components and tools, and performing routine upkeep and minor troubleshooting of lab instruments. The Lab Assistant will help document experiment procedures, maintain lab records, and uphold safety and cleanliness standards in accordance with university guidelines. The role also involves coordinating with technical staff and faculty to improve lab processes and support practical examinations and projects.
Qualifications
- Foundational knowledge of electronics, including components, circuits, and basic instrumentation.
- Hands-on experience with electronic lab equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, and soldering tools.
- Ability to follow technical instructions, set up experiments accurately, and assist in troubleshooting basic hardware issues.
- Understanding of laboratory safety practices and ability to maintain an organized, compliant lab environment.
- Good communication skills and the ability to support faculty and students in a collaborative academic setting.
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
- Prior experience in an educational or technical laboratory environment is an advantage.
- Basic computer skills for maintaining records, inventories, and documentation of lab activities.
