We are looking for an experienced L3 Production Support Engineer with strong expertise in Java to provide advanced technical support for enterprise applications running in production environments. The role involves troubleshooting complex application issues, performing root cause analysis, resolving critical incidents, and ensuring high availability and stability of business-critical applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide L3 production support for Java-based enterprise applications.
- Analyze and resolve complex production incidents, application failures, performance issues, and system errors.
- Perform detailed root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring and critical production issues.
- Monitor application health, system performance, logs, alerts, and batch processes.
- Troubleshoot issues across application, database, API, integration, and infrastructure layers.
- Analyze Java application logs, stack traces, thread dumps, heap dumps, and JVM metrics.
- Identify and resolve Java application performance and memory-related issues.
- Support incident, problem, and change management processes in accordance with defined SLAs.
- Coordinate with L1/L2 support, development, DevOps, database, infrastructure, and third-party teams for issue resolution.
- Implement permanent fixes and production deployments in coordination with development and release teams.
- Develop scripts and automation to improve monitoring, troubleshooting, and operational efficiency.
- Perform application health checks and proactively identify potential production issues.
- Participate in production deployments, release validation, and post-deployment support.
- Maintain technical documentation, troubleshooting guides, known-error databases, and RCA reports.
- Participate in on-call and weekend support activities as required.
Required Technical Skills
- Strong hands-on experience in Java and enterprise application development.
- Strong experience in L3 production/application support.
- Good knowledge of Spring / Spring Boot and Java-based web applications.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, web services, and microservices.
- Experience troubleshooting JVM, memory, CPU, thread, and application performance issues.
- Hands-on experience analyzing application logs, stack traces, thread dumps, and heap dumps.
- Strong SQL knowledge and experience with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
- Experience with Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting.
- Knowledge of application servers such as Tomcat, WebLogic, JBoss, or similar.
- Experience with monitoring and log-management tools such as Splunk, ELK, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Grafana, or similar.
- Experience with Git, CI/CD, and deployment processes.
- Understanding of ITIL-based Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
Good to Have
- Experience supporting high-volume, distributed, and business-critical applications.
- Knowledge of Kafka, RabbitMQ, or other messaging platforms.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Exposure to AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience with performance testing and application profiling.
- Knowledge of batch scheduling tools such as Control-M, Autosys, or similar.
- Experience with production monitoring and observability platforms.
- Exposure to automation using Python or Shell scripting.
