Job Summary
The Learning and Development Specialist is responsible for assessing training needs, designing, implementing, and evaluating training and development programs to meet the learning needs of employees and the goals of the organization. They work to ensure that associates and leaders acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles and contribute to the overall success of the company. The Training & Development Specialist is responsible for developing and delivering training programs focused on enterprise systems, tools, and workflows across the Rollout Services division. This role ensures employees are proficient in the various platforms and technologies required for efficient operations. The specialist will design, implement, and track training initiatives, ensuring alignment with business needs and continuous improvement in system adoption and utilization. The position will evolve as the needs of the business expand.
Essential Functions
- Training Needs Assessment: Conduct needs assessments to identify training and development needs within the organization. Collaborate with stakeholders to determine skill gaps, performance improvement areas, and training priorities.
- Training Program Design & Development: Develop and implement training solutions that enhance employees’ understanding and use of enterprise tools such as ConnectWise, D365, ServiceNow, DPP, XRXD, DCP, ITSM ticketing systems, CRM, ERP and project management tools. Ensure training materials are aligned with system capabilities and updates by working closely with the Business Systems team.
- Content Development: Design and develop training materials, including manuals, presentations, online modules, and microlearning content. Create and maintain training guides, user documentation and standard operating procedures.
- Training Delivery and Facilitation: Deliver training sessions to employees, managers, and other stakeholders. Use various training delivery methods, such as classroom training, virtual training, workshops, and on-the-job training, to ensure effective knowledge transfer and skill development. Manage and track training courses and certification programs using the company LMS system (Cornerstone). Adapt delivery methods to suit the needs and preferences of the audience.
- Technology Integration: Familiarize trainees with the latest technologies, tools and software relevant to their roles. Participate in ITSM tool testing, report bugs and ensure process continuity during system upgrades.
- New Hire Onboarding and Training Program: Support onboarding by delivering training for new hires. Maintain and update the onboarding training program to align with current business needs.
- Training Evaluation and Effectiveness: Assess the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, surveys, and performance metrics and make improvements as needed. Analyze evaluation data, through key performance indicators (KPIs) and learning assessments to assess program impact and make recommendations for program improvements.
- Training Documentation and Program Metrics: Maintain accurate records of training sessions, attendance and evaluation results. Track and report training participation and effectiveness metrics.
- Learning Technology: Utilize learning management systems (LMS) and other technology to deliver and track training initiatives.
- Professional Development: Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and innovative learning techniques to enhance training programs.
- Compliance and Regulations: Ensure that training programs comply with legal and regulatory requirements, especially in industries with specific compliance needs.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with associates, managers, and other stakeholders to promote training opportunities and gather feedback.
- Project Management: Manage training projects, including budgets, timelines, and resources.
- Certifications and Skill Tracking: Maintain accurate records of associates completing various certification programs. Track associate’s success with completion of certifications. Create a tool that will maintain proficiency levels of required competencies within career paths.
- External Training Partnerships: Collaborate with external training providers, consultants, and educational institutions to leverage external expertise and resources. Identify and manage relationships with external vendors for training program delivery.
- Process Improvement and Standardization: Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and standardization within the training and development function. Streamline and enhance training processes, procedures, and workflows to increase efficiency, accuracy, and associate satisfaction.
- Culture: Foster a culture of continuous learning, contributing to employee satisfaction, skill development and overall organizational success
Key Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Human Resources, Education, Organizational Development, or a related area.
- 3+ years of relevant experience in end to end training and development, instructional design, or a related field is essential.
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design, curriculum development, and training delivery methods.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are crucial for creating training materials and effectively delivering training sessions.
- Proficiency in using learning management systems, e-learning tools, and other technology platforms for training delivery and management.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities, and meet deadlines within budget constraints.
- Capability to assess training effectiveness, analyze data, and make data-driven improvements to training programs.
- A willingness to stay up-to-date with industry trends and adapt training programs accordingly.
- A patient and empathetic attitude to help trainees who may struggle with complex technical concepts.
- Familiarity with change management principles and methodologies.
