About the role
Assistant Manager – Operations & Marketing | Kukdukoo Fest
Build things. Make things happen. Travel the country. Work directly with the people building Kukdukoo.
Kukdukoo Fest is India's Biggest Children's Festival — a celebration of art, literature, culture, play and everything that makes childhood unforgettable.
We're looking for an Assistant Manager – Operations & Marketing to join our core team and work directly with the Co-Founder and Marketing Director.
This isn't a role where you'll be doing the same thing every day.
You could be working on a marketing campaign one morning, meeting a potential brand partner in the afternoon, figuring out an event requirement by evening and travelling to another city the following week.
If you like variety, ownership and getting your hands dirty in making things happen, keep reading.
What will you actually do?
A little bit of everything that goes into building a growing festival and business.
Build & Execute
Plan and execute events, workshops, activations and festival experiences.
Work with vendors, artists, partners and multiple stakeholders to make things happen on ground.
Keep projects moving — from the first conversation to the final execution.
Spot problems before they become problems and figure out how to solve them.
Think & Create
Support marketing campaigns, brand communication and content initiatives.
Contribute ideas for campaigns, experiences, partnerships and new initiatives.
Research brands, sponsors, competitors, markets and opportunities that could help Kukdukoo grow.
Help turn an idea on a whiteboard into something people can actually see, experience and talk about.
Work with the Leadership Team
Work directly with the Co-Founder and Marketing Director on ongoing business and marketing priorities.
Set up and coordinate internal and external meetings, prepare agendas and ensure follow-ups don't get lost.
Prepare presentations, proposals, reports, trackers, research and meeting notes when required.
Coordinate across teams and stakeholders to ensure decisions turn into action.
Assist with travel planning, itineraries, accommodation and logistics for business meetings and events.
Keep important documents, timelines, contracts and project information organised.
And yes, wear multiple hats.
There will be days when you are working on a presentation, days when you're coordinating with a vendor, days when you're researching a new opportunity and days when you're on the ground making sure an event comes together.
The job description will give you the broad direction. Your ability to step up, figure things out and take ownership will define how far you go.
Who are we looking for?
We're not looking for someone who has everything figured out.
We're looking for someone who is hungry to learn and ready to take responsibility.
You should be someone who:
Has 0–2.5 years of experience after graduation.
Has a background in Mass Communication or BBA — preferred, but not mandatory.
Has excellent spoken and written English.
Can communicate an idea clearly and confidently.
Doesn't need to be told ten times to follow up on something.
Can move comfortably between thinking, planning and doing.
Is organised enough to manage multiple things at once.
Is curious about how businesses, brands, events and people work.
Can handle ambiguity and figure things out when there isn't a ready-made answer.
Is comfortable working closely with senior leadership.
Doesn't believe, "That's not my job."
Candidates with more than 3 years of experience are requested not to apply.
What makes this role different?
You'll get an opportunity to:
Work closely with leadership
Get a front-row seat to how a growing business is built — from ideas and strategy to execution.
Travel across India
Kukdukoo is a travelling festival. If you love discovering new cities, working on-ground and building experiences, there's plenty of that here.
Work across functions
Marketing. Events. Partnerships. Operations. Strategy. Content. Business development. You'll get exposure to all of it.
Build, don't just execute
Your ideas won't sit inside a presentation. You'll get opportunities to take them all the way to execution.
Grow with the company
We're looking for someone who wants to build a career, not just fill a position.
