Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site THT (Through-Hole Technology) Manual Soldering Technician role based in Chennai. The technician will be responsible for performing precise manual soldering of through-hole components, ensuring adherence to quality standards and IPC specifications. Responsibilities include interpreting technical drawings, performing quality inspections, identifying and resolving soldering defects, and maintaining tools and equipment. The role may also involve collaborating with the production team to meet project deadlines and improve soldering processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manually solder electronic components onto PCBs using THT techniques
- Read and interpret assembly drawings, schematics, and work instructions
- Inspect solder joints for quality (following standards like IPC)
- Repair or rework faulty solder joints
- Maintain tools like soldering irons and ensure proper temperature control
Required Skills
- Experience with manual soldering (especially THT components)
- Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail
- Familiarity with IPC standards (like IPC-A-610 is often preferred)
- Ability to work with small components and delicate materials
