Role overview:
The Community Manager builds and nurtures an engaged player community, primarily on Discord. They connect players with internal teams, foster participation, and ensure gamers have a positive experience. Supporting marketing and production, they handle daily player communication, grow our fanbase, and assist with community initiatives and playtest feedback. Reporting to the Marketing Lead, they help shape the tone and culture of our game and community spaces.
What you'll do:
- Lead day-to-day management of our Discord server, and other social platforms
- Spark conversations, respond to questions, and keep the vibe welcoming, fun, and on-brand
- Plan and host community activities, events, giveaways, and playtest opportunities
- Work with the marketing team to amplify content, announcements, and project updates in the community
- Moderate discussions and help shape community guidelines and best practices
- Collect player feedback and insights, and share them with internal teams
- Collaborate with our Content Creator on community-driven content ideas
- Help define and grow the Koffeecup player community across Discord, Reddit and beyond
Skills and experience:
Essential
- 2-3 years in a similar role
- Experience managing and moderating an active Discord community
- A friendly, approachable tone and strong written communication
- Good judgment when it comes to moderation, tone, and community health
- Passion for games, gaming communities, and internet culture
- Organised and proactive—you’re comfortable planning events or taking initiative when things feel quiet
- Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively across a small team
- An avid Redditor
Nice to have
- Experience running game-related Discord servers (for studios, content creators, or communities)
- Familiarity with forums or other player communities
- Experience planning community campaigns (e.g. meme contests, AMAs, player spotlights)
- Basic knowledge of tools like Discord bots, analytics dashboards, or community platforms
- An interest in VR, immersive games, or experimental experiences
- Know their way around Twitch
