Headquartered at Chennai in a state of the art secure 20,000 square feet spread across two locations and an upcoming 6000 square feet facility in Hyderabad, Knack Studios offers services in Sound, Colour grading and Visual Effects enabling client to realize their artistic vision. Role Overview: We are seeking talented 3D Modelling Artists at Junior, Mid, and Senior levels to join our dynamic team. Candidates should have 1+ years of experience, depending on the role. The ideal applicants will possess a strong portfolio highlighting expertise in creating high-quality 3D models, textures, and assets. Responsibilities include collaborating with designers and animators to produce realistic and stylized models, adhering to project specifications, and meeting deadlines. Proficiency in industry-standard software (e.g., Blender, Maya, 3ds Max) is essential. Strong problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail are required. Responsibilities: Create and develop high-quality 3D models based on provided concepts or references, ensuring accuracy, optimized topology, and proper geometry for VFX production. Analyse model requirements, including size, level of detail, and reference materials, while incorporating scan or Lidar data to enhance realism. Model props, characters, and environments with attention to detail, using modular techniques to maintain scale and consistency. Perform UV mapping and unwrapping, ensuring proper texture alignment and minimizing distortion using workflows like UDIM. Conduct thorough quality control checks, ensuring clean meshes, correct pivot points, organized topology, and adherence to design specifications. Deliver finalized models in required formats (OBJ, FBX), including reference images, and highlighting videos, while ensuring seamless integration into the production pipeline. Provide daily progress updates, working in alignment with guidance from team leads and seniors, and ensure all deliverables are tracked on project management platforms. Skills & Attributes: Experience in 3D modelling, including prop, character, set, and environment modelling. Advanced understanding of UV mapping, unwrapping, and texture optimization. Proficient in analysing and interpreting complex reference materials to produce detailed and accurate models. Strong attention to detail, ensuring clean topology, correct pivot points, and realistic proportions. Effective collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams including texture artists, riggers, and animators. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage and deliver multiple projects within deadlines.
