About the role

As a Senior/ Lead Data Scientist you will be part of the Credit Risk Modeling team within the Data Science organization. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining machine learning models to assess the creditworthiness of Klarna's customers and partners. You will use advanced data analytics and modeling techniques to create predictive models that drive Klarna's credit decisions and help our customers achieve their financial goals. Key responsibilities include:- Developing and maintaining credit risk models using a variety of machine learning techniques such as logistic regression, random forests, gradient boosting, and deep learning.- Collaborating with credit risk experts, business stakeholders, and data engineers to understand business requirements and translate them into effective data-driven solutions.- Continuously monitoring model performance, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing model updates and enhancements.- Providing thought leadership and technical guidance to the broader Data Science team.- Staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in credit risk modeling and machine learning, and incorporating relevant innovations into your work.To be successful in this role, you should have:- Strong background in machine learning, statistics, and data mining, with experience in applying these techniques to solve real-world problems.- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Scala, and familiarity with data engineering tools and frameworks.- Understanding of credit risk modeling concepts and experience working with credit bureau data and/or alternative data sources.- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively engage with cross-functional teams.If you're passionate about using data to drive impactful business decisions and helping people achieve their financial goals, we'd love to hear from you!
