furniture designer conceptualizes and creates functional, aesthetically pleasing pieces for residential, commercial, or industrial spaces. They oversee the entire product lifecycle—from initial sketches and material selection to 3D modeling, prototyping, and final production.Core ResponsibilitiesConcept & Ideation: Develop design concepts, mood boards, and seasonal themes in line with brand identity and market trends.Drafting & Modeling: Create precise 2D technical drawings, cut lists, and 3D models using CAD software.Material Selection: Choose optimal fabrics, woods, metals, and hardware while balancing cost, ergonomics, and structural durability.Prototyping: Build and test initial prototypes for comfort, wear-and-tear, and manufacturability.Production Oversight: Coordinate with suppliers, manufacturing teams, and craftsmen to troubleshoot issues and ensure quality standards.Trend Analysis: Monitor domestic and international interior trends to stay ahead of market demands.Required Qualifications & SkillsEducation: Degree or Diploma in Furniture Design, Industrial Design, Product Design, or Interior Architecture.Technical Software: Proficiency in programs such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3ds Max, or Rhinoceros.Manufacturing Knowledge: Deep understanding of construction techniques, joinery, and manufacturing processes (e.g., CNC cutting, sheet metal bending, upholstery).Soft Skills: Strong spatial awareness, excellent communication, and the ability to work cross-functionally with sales and marketing teams.
