Our mission is to make it easier to build hardware. Solving the world's hardest problems will require building new, increasingly complex hardware, whether it's robotics, energy, defense, or electronics. But building this hardware will be harder than ever before. Unlike the last few decades, the hardware of the coming decades will be marked by increasingly complex builds, large bills of material, and challenging designs. Hardware companies will need powerful new software tools to navigate this explosion in complexity. Just as the tools available to software companies have enabled great feats of software, Kipo AI will enable a new phase of hardware design and manufacturing. We raised a highly competitive pre-seed round and are working with the world's most important manufacturing companies. Kipo AI's founder, Arjun M. Tambe, saw the challenge firsthand while building hardware systems at Microsoft Research and Ripcord Robotics. He worked on robot autonomy at Stanford Intelligent Systems Lab, and scaled his first business—still in operation—to nearly $1M in annual revenue. Our team includes extremely talented engineers from Microsoft Research, TikTok, JP Morgan Quant Trading, Clip Automation, Accenture, Everwell, Lawrence Livermore National Labs, Neotas, and Demos Foundation.
