Overview:

Kindle Energy LLC (“Kindle”) specializes in the management, optimization, and development of power generation in the United States and Canada and is a portfolio company of The Blackstone Group. Blackstone is a leading global alternative asset manager with more than $1 trillion of total assets under management. Currently, Kindle manages 10+ GWs of generation in Ohio, Indiana, New Jersey, and Maryland, with a 700 MW CCGT project under construction in Louisiana, a160 MW natural gas fired facility under construction in Colorado and a 1100 MW CCGT under advanced development in Illinois.

We currently have an opportunity for a Director of Origination that can work remotely with the flexibility to travel 40-70% of the time.

Responsibilities:

  • Originate relationships and new business opportunities for long-term contracted supply with large power consumers across the United States, including but not limited to municipal and cooperative customers
  • Structure long-term and complex transactions for large power consumers
  • Perform project evaluations, and due diligence to help make recommendations in support of large customer/industry initiatives, long-term contracted investments, and new growth opportunities
  • Review, research and respond to RFP(s)
  • Create business case proposals and presentations for business growth and development opportunities
  • Conduct market research and provide analytics of multiple facets within the energy industry to develop and support new investment opportunities
  • Support business development efforts of ongoing contracting and new build opportunities


Qualifications:

  • Bachelors and/or Masters degree in finance, economics, engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in the energy field with a focus on large customer origination and transaction structuring
  • Must have a high level of self-awareness, motivation and ability to communicate openly and timely with team members and outside counterparties
  • Advanced technical and communications skills, including exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • High proficiency in analytical and presentation tools including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other tools
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
