IT Intern: Business Intelligence - Kimball International, Jasper, IN

The ideal candidate will work from our Jasper, IN headquarters.

 

Position Overview:

 

The Information Technology group within Kimball International's Corporate Headquarters is seeking a college student for an exciting summer internship opportunity during the summer of 2026. This internship will provide hands-on experience in application development and software engineering, working alongside experienced developers on real-world projects that impact Kimball’s business operations.

 

Internship Responsibilities:

• Assist in designing, coding, testing, and debugging data engineering applications primary SQL and Power BI
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze application requirements
• Support development and maintenance of BI application
• Participate in development reviews and contribute to continuous improvement efforts
• Help with troubleshooting and resolving BI tickets
• Document BI model designs, user guides, and technical specifications

Required Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field or local Jasper graduated students.
• Basic understanding of programming languages such as SQL
• Familiarity with software development, lifecycles and methodologies
• Familiarity to develop data engineering solutions to feed semantic models and to support operational reporting using tools like SQL and Power BI

• Effective communication and teamwork skills
• Coursework or projects involving application development or software engineering
  

Location and Work Requirements:

• Must be local to Jasper, IN
• Required to work onsite at the Jasper Corporate Headquarters
