Role Description The Kiln Operator is a full-time, on-site role based in Sonipat, responsible for operating and monitoring kilns used in the production of vitrified grinding wheels and whitener stones. Day-to-day tasks include setting and adjusting kiln parameters, loading and unloading products, and ensuring proper firing cycles according to production specifications. The role involves performing routine checks on temperature, timing, and equipment performance, maintaining logs, and reporting any irregularities in the process. The Kiln Operator will work closely with production and quality teams to minimize defects, maintain safety standards, and support continuous improvement of kiln operations. The position also requires adherence to housekeeping practices and compliance with all health, safety, and environmental guidelines.
Qualifications
- Experience in operating industrial kilns, furnaces, or similar heat-treatment equipment, with knowledge of temperature control and firing cycles.
- Understanding of basic manufacturing processes, especially in ceramics, refractories, abrasives, or related sectors.
- Ability to read and follow production instructions, process parameters, and safety procedures accurately.
- Strong attention to detail, quality-focused mindset, and ability to identify defects or process deviations.
- Physical ability to handle on-site tasks, including lifting, loading, and working in high-temperature environments, following safety standards.
- Willingness to work in shifts and collaborate with production, maintenance, and quality teams.
- Prior experience in an industrial plant environment in Sonipat or similar manufacturing hubs is preferred.
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; technical training or ITI in a relevant trade (e.g., kiln operation, furnace operation, ceramics, mechanical) is an advantage.
