Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented BIM Coordinator to join our Interior Design team. The BIM Coordinator will be responsible for implementing and managing the Building Information Modeling (BIM) process within the Interior Design department, ensuring that design concepts are accurately translated into digital models for effective collaboration and project delivery. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in BIM software, interior design principles, and a passion for innovation and efficiency in design workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
BIM Implementation & Coordination:
- Lead the adoption and implementation of BIM standards, processes, and procedures for interior design projects.
- Collaborate with interior designers and other project stakeholders to ensure BIM models align with project goals and design intent.
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of digital models, ensuring they reflect accurate, up-to-date information at all stages of the project.
Modeling & Data Management:
- Develop and maintain detailed 3D BIM models for interior design projects, ensuring the integration of design elements such as furniture, finishes, and fixtures.
- Work with the team to resolve any issues that arise in the BIM models, including clashes or inconsistencies.
- Maintain project-specific BIM libraries, including materials, furniture, and interior components.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all BIM-related queries within the interior design department.
- Coordinate with architectural, structural, and MEP teams to ensure seamless integration of designs across all disciplines.
- Ensure that all project team members have access to and understand the latest project data from BIM models.
Quality Control & Documentation:
- Conduct regular model reviews to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance with project specifications and standards.
- Prepare and manage BIM-related documentation, including reports, schedules, and project tracking tools.
- Maintain and update BIM protocols and workflows to ensure the team adheres to best practices.
Training & Support:
- Provide training and support to interior designers and other team members on BIM software and processes.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, tools, and technologies in BIM, and ensure the department is using industry-leading practices.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience Required to Execute this Role
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience working with BIM software (Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, etc.) in an interior design or architecture firm.
- Experience coordinating or managing BIM processes and working with multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong understanding of interior design principles and standards.
- Proficiency in BIM software (primarily Revit), including advanced knowledge of modeling, coordination, and rendering.
- Familiarity with BIM collaboration platforms such as BIM 360, Procore, or similar tools.
