The ideal candidate will have strong experience in a PR agency environment, excellent media relationships across industries, strong storytelling and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities. This role requires someone who can operate as a trusted client partner while also being hands-on with PR strategy, media engagement, and team management.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage relationships with existing key client accounts, acting as a primary point of contact and trusted communications advisor.
- Develop a strong understanding of clients' businesses, industries, competitive landscapes, business priorities, and communication objectives.
- Build long-term relationships with clients and identify opportunities to deepen engagement and expand the scope of work.
- Lead regular client interactions, status meetings, reviews, and strategic discussions.
- Understand client expectations and ensure timely, high-quality delivery across all PR mandates.
- Proactively identify potential challenges and address them with appropriate solutions.
- Develop compelling client narratives, messaging frameworks, communication strategies, and positioning plans.
- Provide strategic counsel to clients on media positioning, messaging, spokesperson profiling, and communications opportunities.
- Stay abreast of industry developments, news cycles, media trends, and emerging communications opportunities relevant to client accounts.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with journalists, editors, reporters, influencers, and media stakeholders across multiple industries and media platforms.
- Support team members in developing stronger PR, media relations, client servicing, and strategic communication capabilities.
- Encourage a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
- Translate client objectives into clear PR plans, communication calendars, campaigns, and execution roadmaps.
- Analyse quality and relevance of coverage rather than focusing solely on volume.
- Identify trends, insights, and opportunities from media and campaign performance to strengthen future PR strategies.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Public Relations, Mass Communication, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in PR, strategic communications, corporate communications, or a communications agency.
- Proven experience managing key client accounts and senior client stakeholders.
- Strong experience in media relations and demonstrated ability to secure meaningful, high-quality media coverage.
- Established relationships with journalists and media professionals across multiple industries.
- Experience developing PR strategies, communication plans, narratives, positioning strategies, and media campaigns.
- Prior experience in team management, mentoring, and account leadership.
- Strong understanding of the Indian media landscape across business, technology, lifestyle, consumer, corporate, or other relevant sectors.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a strategic PR professional and strong client partner, who can balance relationship management with hands-on PR execution. You should be comfortable engaging with senior client stakeholders, developing communication strategies, guiding teams, and proactively identifying media opportunities.
You should bring a strong network of media relationships, an understanding of what makes a story newsworthy, and the ability to translate complex client objectives into compelling narratives and effective PR programmes.
Experience working with multiple industries and diverse client portfolios will be highly valued.
