Description
The Key Account Manager (KAM) – Pharma Oncology is responsible for achieving sales objectives, managing key oncology accounts, and strengthening relationships with oncologists, healthcare professionals, hospital administrators, and procurement stakeholders. The role focuses on expanding market presence, driving brand adoption, and ensuring effective execution of commercial strategies within the assigned territory.
Essential Functions Business Development & Sales Execution
- Achieve and exceed assigned sales targets for oncology products.
- Develop and execute territory business plans to drive market growth.
- Identify and engage key decision-makers across hospitals, cancer centers, and healthcare institutions.
- Conduct regular customer visits and ensure effective product promotion among oncologists and medical professionals.
- Drive product awareness and brand adoption through scientific engagement and commercial discussions.
Key Account & Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with oncologists, healthcare providers, hospital administrators, and procurement teams.
- Understand customer requirements and provide appropriate business and patient-centric solutions.
- Support healthcare professionals with scientific and product-related information.
- Ensure high standards of customer engagement and account servicing.
Market Intelligence & Competitor Analysis
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and therapy developments in oncology.
- Gather customer insights and provide timely market feedback to internal stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for improving product positioning and business expansion.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Coordinate with medical, marketing, and regulatory teams to ensure effective brand execution and compliance.
- Support marketing campaigns, CMEs, and medical education initiatives.
- Work closely with supply chain and internal teams to ensure smooth product availability and customer support.
Compliance & Reporting
- Adhere to company policies, ethical standards, and industry regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and territory updates.
- Submit regular reports on business performance, market insights, and action plans.
Additional Responsibilities
- Participate in regional and national sales meetings, product trainings, and conferences.
- Support launch activities for new oncology products and therapies.
- Continuously enhance therapy and product knowledge through self-learning and training programs.
- Contribute to the achievement of overall regional and organizational business goals.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong understanding of oncology therapies, treatment protocols, and pharmaceutical market dynamics.
- Proven ability to build relationships and manage key customer accounts effectively.
- Demonstrated sales achievement and business development capabilities.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, or a related field required.
- MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in pharmaceutical sales.
- Prior experience in oncology sales or specialty therapies preferred.
- Experience in handling institutional stakeholders and key healthcare accounts is an advantage.
