Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Key Account Manager with over 7-8 years of experience in sales and account management, ideally within financial /SaaS or data-driven solutions. This is a quota-bearing role responsible for end-to-end account management, including developing strategic client relationships and driving sustainable revenue growth through upselling and cross-selling initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Own and manage a defined portfolio of key accounts, with full accountability for revenue retention and growth, including upsell and cross-sell opportunities.
- Achieve Net Revenue Retention (NRR) and meet or exceed assigned revenue targets.
- Drive incremental revenue through strategic account expansion initiatives.
- Deliver accurate and timely monthly forecasts for sales and renewals.
- Meet defined targets for client engagements, meetings, and product training sessions.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and service delivery excellence.
- Develop a deep understanding of client business models, workflows, and decision-making structures.
- Execute account-level strategies aligned with broader organizational objectives.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to deliver tailored solutions to clients.
- Monitor account activity, provide regular updates to management, and share market intelligence and competitive insights.
- Act as the primary client point of contact and manage escalations effectively.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions, opportunities, and pipeline within CRM systems.
- Conduct product training sessions and workshops for clients to drive adoption and value realization.
- Manage individual expense budgets in line with company guidelines.
Skills & Requirements
- Strong understanding of client business environments, particularly within financial services, banking, government, and research institutions.
- Knowledge of market data and research requirements across functions such as Corporate Banking, Risk Management, Credit Research, Equities Research, Fund Management, and Economic Analysis.
- Proven expertise in consultative selling, with the ability to identify, develop, and articulate complex value propositions.
- Demonstrated ability to onboard clients effectively and maintain high-quality CRM data.
- Excellent negotiation, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
- Good analytical and problem-solving capabilities to address client needs and deliver customized solutions.
- Good communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.
- High level of proficiency in using sales and productivity technology tools.
- Self-motivated, target-oriented, and driven to achieve results in a competitive environment.
- Willingness to travel as required, including travel outside Mumbai.
Experience & Education:
- Minimum 7-8 + years of experience in account management or sales roles within relevant industries.
- Advanced degree such as MBA, CFA, or FRM is preferred.
- Fluency in English is essential.
