Role Description The Key Account Executive is a full-time, on-site role based in the Dhanbad-Ranchi area, responsible for managing and growing strategic merchant and partner relationships. In this position, the professional will own a portfolio of key accounts, regularly visiting client locations to understand business needs, drive adoption of PhonePe solutions, and identify opportunities for cross-sell and up-sell. The role involves negotiating commercial terms, executing account plans, and ensuring timely resolution of operational, technical, and service-related issues. The Key Account Executive will collaborate with cross-functional teams such as product, operations, risk, and marketing to deliver tailored solutions and improve merchant satisfaction. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring performance metrics, preparing business reviews, tracking market trends and competition, and ensuring consistent achievement of revenue and activation targets in the assigned territory.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in key account management, B2B sales, or business development, preferably in fintech, payments, or FMCG/telecom.
- Strong relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence decision-makers and maintain long-term partnerships.
- Solid negotiation, presentation, and communication abilities, including comfort with data-driven discussions and performance reviews.
- Territory management and field sales experience in the Dhanbad-Ranchi region or similar markets, with strong understanding of local market dynamics.
- Ability to analyze account performance metrics, identify growth opportunities, and convert insights into actionable account plans.
- Comfort working with CRM tools, basic Excel/Sheets, and reporting dashboards for tracking pipelines, closures, and merchant performance.
- Self-driven, organized, and resilient, with the ability to work independently in the field while collaborating effectively with internal teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
- Fluency in English and Hindi; familiarity with local languages of the region
