Established in 1930, Kenwood Country Club is the premier family club in the Cincinnati
area and one of the top Clubs in the Midwest. The club offers tremendous facilities
including two championship, 18-hole golf courses, tennis, paddle tennis, state-of-the-art
fitness center, an expansive pool and pavilion area, and a sophistically renovated
clubhouse. The club has a total of 925 members and remains on a waitlist of
approximately two years for social membership and five years for golf membership.

The club seeks to hire a Private Event Director. This position will report to the Clubs
Assistant General Manager. The overall responsibility of the Private Event Director is
interacting with members and non-members in attracting, securing, planning, and
executing events.
The Private Event Director Is Responsible For:
• Attracting, securing, planning, and executing events across all market segments
(corporate, social, bridal, & golf outings)
• Booking and up-selling business to achieve and exceed budgeted goals
• Answering daily event inquiries
• Contract creation, handling of deposit and payment schedules with members/event
hosts. Finalizing billing with the help of accounting and food and beverage
department
• Timely communication with members, guests, coworkers, and vendors via
telephone and email
• BEO (Banquet Event Order) and diagram creation and details
• Being the main point of contact to the event host from date of inquiry throughout the
event date and day-of-event-checks
• Attend and facilitate BEO meetings
• Keeping up to date on event trends
• Networking around the Cincinnati area
• Helping with the coordination and planning of member events such as holiday
brunches, Lobster Bake, Independence Day, etc.
• Providing departmental assistance in the budgeting process.
• Other duties as assigned
Specific skills, abilities and qualifications of the Private Event Director include:
• Strong organizational skills and high-level of attention to detail
• Must be able to work in a high pace environment balancing many different tasks
• High energy and outgoing personality with professional presence and appearance
• Being able to problem solve on your feet while maintaining composure with clients
• Diplomatic team player able to foster relationships with Members, guests,
employees, and vendors
• Manage and lead the private events sales team, including the Event Coordinator
position
• Professional and responsive communication to all Members, clients, and
employees
• Networking inside and outside the Club to obtain 'leads' and build relationships
with new and existing clients
• Assisting event hosts in developing a menu, floor plan, timeline, etc.
• Effectively partnering with all departments in the planning and execution of events
• Attending functions to meet hosts and ensure everything is as expected and adjust
as needed
• Develop customized proposals and contracts that align with client needs and club
standards.
• Collaborate with culinary, operations, and service teams to ensure flawless event
execution.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and event software experience is a plus
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including holidays, nights, and weekends
Education And Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in hospitality, business, or related field a plus but not required
• 3-5 years related experience required
• Experience working in clubs is a plus
• Catering sales experience a plus
• Wedding experience is a plus.
