Job Description: Architectural Intern / Co-op Position: Architectural Co-op Location: Kelly Boucher Architecture, 54 Harvard Street, Brookline Village, MA Duration: 6 month Co-Op Hours: Flexible Compensation: Paid $25/hr About Kelly Boucher Architecture Kelly Boucher Architecture (located in Brookline Village, MA) specializes in historic preservation and residential architecture in the Boston / Cambridge / Brookline area. The firm works on additions, renovations, new construction, and restoration projects within the context of historic urban neighborhoods. Projects often involve detailed design, regulatory permitting, and collaboration with local preservation bodies and community stakeholders. What You'll Do As an entry-level intern/co-op, you'll work closely with the principal architect and project team on a variety of introductory design and documentation tasks including, but not limited to: Assisting in schematic, design development, and construction document phases Producing and editing drawings in Revit (proficiency preferred) Researching building codes, zoning, historic preservation guidelines, and local regulations Helping prepare permit applications and documentation for historic commissions or local boards Participating in site visits, photographing conditions, measuring, and documenting existing structures Supporting design presentations and client meetings Required / Desired Skills & Qualifications Currently enrolled in an accredited architecture program (undergraduate or graduate) Strong interest in residential architecture, historic preservation, and/or adaptive reuse Proficiency in Revit preferred Basic familiarity with CAD, SketchUp, or rendering software Good graphic presentation skills and attention to detail Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work both independently and as part of a small team Curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to learn from hands-on project experience What You'll Gain Hands-on experience in all phases of small-scale residential and preservation design projects Exposure to permitting, client interaction, and project documentation in a small-firm environment Mentorship and feedback from an established architect focused on context-sensitive design Opportunity to build your portfolio with real-world, local projects Working in Brookline Village, MBTA Transit Access KBA is located 10 minutes from the Northeastern Campus. Several bus routes also serve the area, increasing connectivity to Boston and nearby neighborhoods.
