Employee Relations Manager
Location: El Segundo (Los Angeles), CA

We’re seeking an Employee Relations Manager to serve as our North America subject matter expert for employee relations—partnering closely with leaders, HR Business Partners, and Legal to navigate complex workplace matters and strengthen employee engagement.
What You’ll Do
As a trusted advisor, you’ll lead employee relations strategy and execution across KSNA, balancing compliance, empathy, and business impact.
Employee Relations & Compliance
- Provide expert guidance on performance management, corrective action, accommodations, and workplace concerns
- Interpret and apply federal and state employment laws (ADA, FMLA, CFRA, and beyond)
- Promote inclusive, unbiased practices aligned with KARL STORZ values
Workplace Investigations
- Lead complex investigations involving harassment, discrimination, hostile work environment, and other concerns
- Conduct thorough, unbiased fact‑finding and document cases in the ER case management system
- Partner with leaders to ensure timely, appropriate outcomes
Coaching & Manager Enablement
- Coach leaders at all levels on difficult conversations, performance management, and early issue resolution
- Design and deliver ER‑related training and workshops
Proactive Risk Mitigation
- Analyze ER trends to identify risks and root causes
- Partner with HRBPs to implement proactive solutions that improve engagement and minimize reactive work
Programs, Policy & Data
- Design and improve ER programs, policies, and processes
- Own ER case management data, reporting insights and trends
- Leverage technology—including AI and Copilot—to enhance ER effectiveness
What You Bring
- 5+ years in Employee Relations or HR Generalist roles with significant ER ownership
- 3+ years leading complex investigations and fact‑finding interviews
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. employment law and ER best practices
- Experience with ER case management systems and data analysis
- Bachelor’s degree in HR or a related field (Master’s preferred)
- Exceptional judgment, resilience, and communication skills
- Comfort partnering with and influencing senior leaders
- Willingness to travel as needed
