About the role
Description
Join our team for the summer harvest! We are seeking a Summer Elevator Operator (typically May - July), this role is responsible for providing excellent customer service while assisting with the receiving, storing, and shipping of grain, as well as performing basic maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide prompt, professional customer service and assist with inquiries or concerns
- Load and unload grain trucks; inspect grain for moisture, insects, and foreign material
- Operate grain handling equipment (conveyors, trippers, flow pipes, etc.)
- Monitor and record grain temperatures
- Perform routine maintenance and minor equipment repairs
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Complete required paperwork accurately and communicate effectively with team members
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
- Work flexible hours during harvest, including nights, weekends, and overtime as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, climbing ladders, and working at heights
- Comfortable working in environments with grain dust, noise, and varying weather conditions
- Willingness to work long hours during seasonal harvest periods (typically May–July and/or fall)
- Strong attention to safety and ability to follow all safety protocols
- Dependable, team-oriented, and strong communication skills
- Willingness to learn and take on new tasks as needed
