Role Description The KAM – Air Imports role is a full-time, on-site position based in Ahmedabad. The Key Account Manager will oversee air import operations for key customers, ensuring efficient handling of shipments from booking to final delivery. Daily responsibilities include coordinating with airlines, overseas agents, and internal operations teams, preparing and reviewing documentation, and monitoring shipment status to meet agreed service levels. The role involves managing customer relationships, responding to inquiries, resolving issues, and providing regular updates and performance reports. The KAM – Air Imports will also support rate negotiations, contribute to process improvements, and ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards.
Qualifications
- Experience in air import freight forwarding, including shipment coordination, documentation, and customs-related processes.
- Strong customer relationship management skills and the ability to serve as a primary point of contact for key accounts.
- Solid communication and negotiation skills for working with customers, airlines, and international agents.
- Ability to analyze shipment performance, identify issues, and implement practical process improvements.
- Proficiency with MS Office tools and logistics or freight management systems.
- Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities.
- Knowledge of international trade, Incoterms, and basic regulatory requirements related to air imports.
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, business, or a related field; relevant experience in freight forwarding is highly valued.
