Kafka-Integration Architect – Manager
Role Summary
The integration architect role is more generic solution architecture (not a platform architect), An integration architect is responsible for architecting solutions across API, Event driven and Batch architectures.
Key Responsibilities
Here are the high-level job responsibilities. We are looking for someone who has experience in two of the 3 areas (API, Event driven, Batch)
- Define integration architectures for federated teams—choosing between API, event streaming, and batch/IDMC patterns. Document decisions with reusable templates and guardrails.
- Enable integration modernization away from point-to-point.
- Lead API product architecture (Apigee & potentially MuleSoft): contract first design with OpenAPI/Stoplight, shared flows/OAuth policies, productization, developer portal publishing, and exception handling/time bound deviations.
- Advance event driven integration (Confluent Kafka): data product contracts, topic/schema governance, producer/consumer onboarding (service accounts, repos), observability and lag/error patterns.
- Guide SAP/BTP & Oracle integration designs (IDoc/OData/CPI, OSB/SOA), including “last mile” with SAP PI/PO where needed, and pragmatic modernization away from point‑to‑point.
- Secure by design. Apply OAuth2/OIDC, mTLS, WAF/gateway policies, secrets management (KVM/DVM) and partner with Cyber GRC for approvals
- Design common Frameworks across all integration platforms.
- Knowledge on Azure platform and resources.
