Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Kafka/Confluent Developer/Engineer with strong expertise in designing, deploying, and managing distributed streaming platforms using Apache Kafka. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in production-grade Kafka environments, stream processing, cluster management, and cloud deployments.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain real-time streaming data pipelines using Apache Kafka.
Configure, deploy, and manage Kafka clusters in both cloud and on-premises environments.
Implement Kafka security (SSL, SASL, ACLs) and ensure secure data transmission.
Develop stream processing applications using Kafka Streams, KSQL, or Apache Flink.
Manage and maintain Kafka ecosystem components including ZooKeeper/KRaft, Schema Registry, and Kafka Connect.
Optimize performance, scalability, and fault tolerance of Kafka clusters.
Troubleshoot complex distributed system issues and ensure high availability.
Collaborate with DevOps teams for CI/CD pipeline integration, monitoring, and logging.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and deliver scalable streaming solutions.
Required Skills
5+ years of hands-on experience with Apache Kafka in production environments.
Strong understanding of Kafka architecture (brokers, topics, partitions, replicas).
Experience with Kafka security (SSL, SASL, ACLs).
Expertise in distributed systems, data streaming, and messaging patterns.
Proficiency in Java, Scala, or Python for Kafka-based development.
Experience with Kafka Streams, KSQL, or Apache Flink.
Familiarity with DevOps practices including CI/CD, monitoring, and logging.
Hands-on experience with Schema Registry, Kafka Connect, and ZooKeeper/KRaft mode.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills / Certifications
Certifications such as:
Confluent Certified Administrator for Apache Kafka (CCAAK)
Cloudera Certified Administrator for Apache Kafka (CCA-131)
Amazon Web Services Certified Data Analytics – Specialty
Experience with cloud platforms such as:
Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Microsoft Azure
Google Cloud Platform
Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
Familiarity with messaging systems such as RabbitMQ or Apache Pulsar.
Experience with data serialization formats such as Avro and JSON.
