Location: Remote, available from anywhere within the U.S. Candidates located in Eastern or Central time zones are preferred.
Travel: Occasional travel may be required, including quarterly visits to our Charlottesville, VA office for in-person collaboration with the team.
The Opportunity
Join K12 Coalition’s Corporate Finance team as a Financial Analyst, where day-to-day work connects directly to how the business operates and grows. This role partners across departments to support budgeting, forecasting, and monthly financial reporting.
The work is hands-on and focused on execution. From owning monthly financial summaries to supporting forecasting for key divisions, this role plays an important part in keeping financial insights accurate, timely, and useful. There is also strong exposure to systems and data, with opportunities to build familiarity across finance, CRM, and HRIS platforms while helping ensure consistency and reliability in reporting.
Working closely with business leaders across the organization, this role contributes to financial visibility and supports decisions that impact teams and operations company-wide. It also requires ownership of work, attention to accuracy, and the ability to clearly communicate results and stand behind analysis.
The Financial Analyst reports to the Director, FP&A.
What You’ll Do
Financial Reporting & Forecasting

Support SG&A budgeting, forecasting, and reporting across all divisions and corporate functions

Own monthly financial summaries and variance analysis for departments and divisions

Lead monthly financial review meetings with department leaders to walk through results and answer questions

Support and maintain revenue forecasting for Continuing Education divisions, including regular updates on performance and cost of sales

Present financial results to department leaders, explaining key drivers, assumptions, and variances
Business Partnership & Operations

Partner with department leaders to understand spend, track trends, and provide guidance on budget management
-
Respond to day-to-day financial questions from cross-functional teams

Translate financial data into clear, practical insights to support decision-making

Assist with preparation of materials for leadership reviews and internal reporting

Provide ad hoc analysis and reporting across business units to support evolving business needs
Systems & Data

Build working knowledge of financial, CRM, and HRIS systems to support reporting and data validation
-
Serve as a resource during budgeting cycles by troubleshooting Prophix issues and ensuring data accuracy
-
Pull and analyze data from multiple sources to support reporting and trend analysis

Maintain and improve recurring reporting templates and dashboards

Validate data integrity across systems and flag discrepancies for resolution

Direct support for the CFO through completing recurring compliance requests

Ensure accuracy of financial data by validating outputs and reconciling to source systems
Other Duties
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field preferred

2+ years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, or data-related work

Strong proficiency in Excel and comfort working across systems and datasets

Detail-oriented with the ability to manage recurring processes and ensure accuracy

Demonstrates curiosity and takes initiative to investigate questions and solve problems

Comfortable presenting financial information and explaining analysis to business partners
-
Takes ownership of work and follows through, including proactively identifying and addressing issues
-
Able to work collaboratively across teams and build strong working relationships with non-finance partners

Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, remote environment with informal and frequent communication

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Experience with Salesforce, UKG Ready, Prophix, or Sage Intacct is a plus
-
Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, or financial systems support is a plus

Compensation Range
The compensation range for this position is $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 annually.
As part of our commitment to maintaining fair and consistent compensation practices, new hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary between the band minimum and midpoint, based on their qualifications, location, internal alignment, and the budgeted amount for the role.
