Job purpose
The Parts Inventory Lead is responsible for supporting maintenance and plant operations. The role has ownership of receiving parts and distribution, insuring efficiency and inventory accuracy.
Duties and responsibilities
- Monitor inventory level and place orders with vendors.
- Receive and inspect incoming orders for accuracy and damage.
- Sort, organize, and audit inventory, while maintaining order and cleanliness of part storage areas.
- Reconcile inventory into related software systems and communicate discrepancies.
- Run and review reports within the parts software systems.
- Coordinate parts pickups and returns with vendors.
- Provide daily support and guidance to 4 – 5 shop parts runners.
- Assign tasks and prioritize runner workflows.
- Drive company vehicle to pick up and deliver parts and/or materials from shop to parts supplier, mechanic or other locations in the field.
- Load and unload trucks by hand or through the use of a forklift.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 2+ years experience in parts management, inventory control, or warehouse operations (heavy equipment or automotive preferred).
- Proven ability to coordinate multiple people and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable navigation computers and business related software.
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Ability to effectively communicate with managers, suppliers, manufacturers, mechanics and field personnel.
- Ability to do minor math computations.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
